About Natalia

A space shaped by listening

I am a fully accredited psychoanalytic psychotherapist and couples therapist with a Freudian-Lacanian orientation, based in Dublin.

Natalia Alves, psychoanalytic psychotherapist and couples therapist in Dublin

My work is grounded in the conviction that each person who comes to therapy arrives with something unique to say. I listen for what speaks underneath the words — in symptoms, dreams, slips, and the patterns that repeat across a life.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the arts sector. That background continues to inform my clinical perspective, bringing an attentiveness to creativity, language, and the ways we make meaning of our lives. I am interested in how people tell their stories, and what remains unsaid within them.

I offer individual psychotherapy and couples therapy, both online and in person in Dublin. Sessions are available in English and Portuguese. My practice is open to adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, relational relational difficulties, questions of sexuality and desire, and the quieter sense that something is not quite right. Clinical Experience

Where I have worked

  • HSE National Counselling Service
  • Trinity College Student Counselling
  • The Tower Programme
  • Kilbarrack Coast Community Programme

Across these settings I have worked with people facing a wide range of difficulties — from acute distress to the slower, more diffuse sense that life has lost its shape. Each context has deepened my commitment to listening without hurry, and to meeting each person as they are.
